Why choose the Super S?
Unique enclosed expansion vessels High quality Duplex Stainless Steel 25 year cylinder guarantee Fantastic heat up and recovery times Ultra low heat loss Easy installation No visible frontline pipework Electric cables hidden Unique inlet control valve Dedicated secondary return on all cylinders Pioneering laser welding
Using innovative and dynamic design concepts OSO are proud to introduce a quantum leap in unvented cylinder design. All pipes, expansion vessels and electric cables are hidden from view giving the neatest possible installation. Reduced heat losses from the Super S are achieved by the use of 100% recyclable Super Eco foam insulation and also incorporating all valves and pipes beneath the insulated removable top.
Manufactured from Duplex stainless steel and offered with a 25 year guarantee, the OSO Super S was recently reviewed by Roger Bisby of “Professional Heating and Plumbing Installer” magazine. Roger concluded "Now that’s what I call innovation. I have never fitted an indirect cylinder as easy as this." (PHPI July/Aug 2009) Read Roger's article here. (Please note Roger was fitting the original version of the Super S that was supplied with a separate expansion vessel. New cylinders offer substantial further space and labour savings with factory fitted under-lid vessels.) Unique design: Traditional unvented cylinders lose a substantial amount of heat from the uninsulated valves attached to the side of the cylinder. All Super S pipe connections, expansion vessels and valves are on the top of the cylinder covered by an insulated lid. A bespoke multifunction valve, accepting all the secondary pipes, safety valves and a unique blending valve, is concealed under the lid with the primary flow and return connections. The multifunction valve and expansion vessels are factory fitted to the cylinder making the Super S virtually a pre-plumbed unit. All heating and potable water pipes connect to the Super S from the rear, allowing pipes to be concealed from view to give the neatest possible installation. The installer fits the pipes to the back wall together according to a supplied template and finally slides the cylinder into place to marry the valve connections with the pre-cut pipe tails. Employing innovative design techniques the Super S cylinder is a significant departure from the increasing number of stereotyped unvented cylinders available in the UK. The OSO design team started with a blank sheet and a remit to produce "the perfect unvented cylinder in the eyes of the installer and the householder". The challenge was to harmonise the Super S design with building regulations and best installation practice. Electrical cables are concealed in channels behind the casing and underneath the cylinder, ensuring they are out of sight to enhance the neat appearance of the unit. With pipes and cables out of sight, the physical appearance is optimised and the area occupied by the water heater kept to a minimum. Superior performance: In the modern SAP & Part L conscious world low heat losses and fast recovery rates are a given. The Super S however sets a new standard in heating performance with 26kw heating coils in indirect units from 150 litres offering reheat times well below 20 minutes. The concealed valves under the insulated lid also substantially reduce heat losses. Direct units are set to heat to 70°C, with water then blended to 60°C when drawn off. This extra energy stored in the direct cylinders allows units to be downsized enabling further space savings, heat loss savings and cost benefits. Independent approval: The OSO Super S is available in direct and indirect heating formats and with capacities from of 120 to 300 litres and carries approval by KIWA & WRAS. All the units are 570mm diameter. Eco-friendly production: The Super S is manufactured using laser welding technology, which requires no filler rod. The welds are created in an oxygen free atmosphere, thus eliminating the need for cleaning of corrosive oxides on the weld, typically done by acid washing in competitor factories, with consequential environmental damage. OSO laser welding eliminates these harmful discharges from our factory. Cylinders are insulated using polyurethane foam to minimise heat losses. The foam is created using water as blowing agent to minimise harmful emissions and give a zero Ozone Depletion Potential. Oso Hotwater still has some stock of the original version of the Super S cylinder. For product details please click here. |
