The OSO 17 series hot water cylinder is available in nine storage capacities from 500 to 10,000 litres. The 17 series can be supplied in 4 variations:
17R - No built.in heat source - water accumulator
17RD - Built-in electric immersion heaters
17RI - Built-in high recovery coil heat exchanger for water or steam
17RID - Built-in coil heat exchanger and immersion heaters

PRODUCT INFORMATION
 
CYLINDER CONSTRUCTION: Calorifiers up to 1,000 litres can be manufactured from stainless steel or copper lined steel according to specification.
 
Calorifiers over 1,000 litres are manufactured from copper lined steel.
 
Stainless steel calorifiers are supplied with a protective anode.
 
All products have a uniform sheet metal thickness with all seams fusion welded. Every unit is factory pressure tested to 15 bar and has a working pressure of 10 bar.
 
All units manufactured to the international standard ISO/DIS 2694 (BS 5500)
 
INSULATION: CFC free conventional glass wool. The insulation will not encourage vermin or bacteria and is not susceptible to damage from moisture. The outer casing is manufactured from plastic coated mild steel having an attractive blue finish.
 
IMMERSION HEATERS: If the cylinder is required to be heated by immersion heaters please specify at time of ordering. Elements are supplied factory fitted and can be ordered in single or three phase.
 
Elements are typically 3 or 5kW. Other outputs are available to order
 
Control of elements being by individual factory fitted and hard wired surface mounted thermostats. The working thermostat’s are adjustable between 55°C and 85°C, a non adjustable safety cut out is incorporated in the design and will operate at 93°C +/– 3°C.
 
SECONDARY EXPANSION: Expansion of secondary water can be accommodated either internally in a self initiating air gap or externally in dedicated expansion vessels
 
VALVES & GAUGES: As standard each cylinder will be supplied with a pressure & temperature relief valve(s) sized to the maximum KW loading and a secondary thermometer range 0°C to 120°C.

AVAILABLE COMPONENTS:

• Mains cold water inlet valve set comprising isolating valve and check valve.
• Secondary hot water blending valve which allows secondary water to be blended between 55°C and 85°C. The blending set comprises a check valve, anti-vacuum valve and a thermometer. Also incorporated within the valve is a second draw off point which allows hot water to be used at the cylinder store temperature. Note anti-vacuum valve not incorporated in 22mm blending valve.

WATER SUPPLY: OSO cylinders are designed for connection directly to the cold mains supply or to a pressurised water source ie. storage tanks and booster pumps.
 
OSO cylinders can be manufactured to be connected to a conventional open vented system ie. cold water storage gravity feed tank with open vent to atmosphere. If the cylinder is to be installed this way you must specify OPEN VENTED SYSTEM when ordering.
